Admissions to Ph.D. Programme
CHARUSAT has launched the Ph. D. programme from January 2010 for conducting research in frontier areas of Engineering, Pharmacy and Applied Sciences.
Research Topics include:
- Nanoscience
- Protein Biochemistry
- Clinical Biochemistry
- Targeted Drug Delivery
- Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology
- Optical Communication
- Electromagnetics and Antenna Design
- Mathematics
- Condensed Matter Physics
- Solar Energy Devices
- Satellite and Wireless Communication
- Solid State Electronics.
The university provides a vibrant research environment supported by highly qualified faculty members, excellent infrastructure and state-of-art facilities. The campus is wi-fi with high-speed internet. The library has over 30,000 books, journals, and access to about 400 ejournals.
Ph. D. students of CHARUSAT will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with different disciplines and also interact with faculties from various fields. Interdisciplinary research will be encouraged. Students can also take part in on-going research projects sponsored by national agencies.
Admissions
Students will be admitted to Ph. D. programme as:
(a) Full-time Students for those willing to pursue Ph.D. on full time basis or
(b) Part-time Students for those willing to pursue Ph.D. along with other assignments within
or outside CHARUSAT
Eligibility
Students will be eligible for the Ph. D. programme only if the following criteria are satisfied:
(a) A post-graduate (Masters) degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA and
(b) Has qualified in GATE / CSIR – UGC JRF / NET / SLET or equivalent exams of similar level or CHARUSAT Doctoral Entrance Test (CDET)
Admission Procedure
Selection will be based on an interview conducted by CHARUSAT.
Residential requirements
A Full-time student has to stay and work in the university Campus during the duration of the Ph. D. programme. A Part-time Student has to stay in the campus for additional two semesters after the course work. However, this residential period can be spread over the duration of the Ph. D. programme.
Course Fees
Rs. 50,000 per year for the duration of programme
Financial Assistance
On-campus Teaching Assistantship will be available to meritorious students.
